Besalu is a five-piece band playing both traditional Jewish music and original compositions.
Our inspiration comes from the musical traditions of past and present Jewish communities, ranging from eastern Europe to Spain, and from the eastern Mediterranean to north Africa.
I was very much inspired by the jewish world music ensemble Besalu playing in the Delft Synagogue during the Fringe Festival Delft 2014. This is there song BESALĂ, refering to the jewish settlement in Girona North Spain.
